My life is as tumultuous as ever. Preparing to let the house go, thinking about where to go next, what my life will look like a year from now... it's all a bit much. But as always, I find comfort and peace when I'm working on my art.I used to wonder if I was hurting my sales by not focusing on one style but have decided that doing that just wouldn't work for me. I have no interest in maki
ng several variations on the same theme and am always looking to try something new to see if I like it -- and if I'm any good at it. My latest 'thing' has been wire wrapping. Takes more skill than I thought but what I love about is that the wrapping doesn't have to be perfect; in fact, it almost looks better when it's a little askew. Or perhaps it just looks better to me. :-) Anyway, I must be onto something because I sold my first pair of wire wrapped earrings last week at the place where I vend.
I'm also working
toward using more color in my designs. When I did the seasonal switch of my clothing, I found a closet full of New Yorker-black, brown, and navy blazers that must be banished. Dwindling funds made me go for the safe choice. But life is short and 'safe' chafes. Just got some new supplies and I can't wait to see what I come up with.
