We've had rain nearly every day for the past ten days in my part of the world. Definitely affecting my mood and absolutely influenced my decision not to vend today. The sun's been playing peekaboo, sneaking out for a minute here, and a half hour there, and then scuttling back behind dark, puffy, pregnant clouds. I was scheduled for a two-day gig at an oh-so-new-and-trendy outdoor restaurant but the weatherman is predicting showers this AM and a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon.
A little sprinkling, OK. Thunderstorms? Lee don't play that. It's just as well. I had promised myself not to book anymore two-day shows at any venue I hadn't previously visited but I'd bent my rule for this one because it's in my hometown, New York City!
Tomorrow will see cooler temperatures but the rain is mooooving out tonight! I've been watching the hour by hour reports like a hawk and so far, all looks good for manana. It's Mother's Day; I'll get to see my daughter, son in law, and grandson; vend in a neighborhood I love; and hopefully my wares will entice patrons and passersby to purchase something for their mothers/stepmothers/sisters/friends/anyone who ever had a baby!
The photo above is from last year but I love it so until I get a new one -- very soon, I think -- this will have to do. It's a sort of Mary Tyler Moore-ish image (ha!) and I will need a moment or two to gather up the exuberance I felt that day.
Thanks to all who did sun dances and chanted to bring the sun back. It took awhile but it's on its way.

I am sorry the weather is miserable for you. I do hope that indeed the sun shines tomorrow. It has been just as lousy out here. The sun is shining now for the first time in a week but the clouds are on the way....
Good luck tomorrow and Happy Mother's Day!
Hey Lee I have the same sun game going on here in Florence. You look fantastic and I miss you.
