Running around preparing for craft shows, getting ready to sell my house, looking for a job back home in the NYC area so I can be closer to family and friends, changing my hair, trying to find time and inspiration to make new stuff for the shop and the craft shows, trying to quit smoking for good (again, dammit!), trying to stay on my meal plan (I refuse to use the word "d i e t") ... busy, busy, busy.. and my cat Bumblebee follows me around like a puppy. I think he was absent the day they taught "aloof".I'm crazy mad in love with him but sometimes my mind is all over the place and I just don't have it to give, you know? But I should know by now: ignoring him never works. If I sit still for a minute, he's on my lap. If I take a nap on the couch, 13 pounds of orange tabby winds up stretched out on my hip. When I go into the kitchen to cook, he runs after me and I have to keep one eye on the stove and one on him to to ensure that I don't trip over him and wind up breaking a leg (his or mine); and while I was in the bathroom trimming my hair, I guess he was thinking, "If you thought you could escape me, forget it."
A couple of years ago, my daughter gave me a plaque that reads, "Dogs have owners. Cats have staff." Truer words were never spoken. I surrendered. After taking this picture, I went and got him a treat. After he finished it, he came over to where I was sitting on the couch and proceeded to thank me by kneading my bare legs with very sharp claws. (Note to self: Remember to throw the blanket over you when Bumblebee is awake and you're sitting on the sofa in your Hanes for Her.)

Heh heh. My Fred will only drink water out of a cup from the bathroon sink. They do own us...
Ah yes, but to be loved so devotedly says a lot about the owner...never take it for granted :)
A cup from the sink! I love it! :-)
